The Norwegian Institute at Athens publications on-line

Some of the Norwegian Institute’s publications are digitized and made available through the on-line repository of the University of Bergen.

Main Collection

Boreas - The Winged God of the Northern Wind.

40.000 volumes mainly in the field of Greek archaeology and of ancient Greek religion and history, including 450 periodicals.
The Library's material can only be consulted on the Library's premises, - it may never leave the Library.

The Library catalogue is on-line accessible.
The fairly small collections kept in the Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish Institutes are also searchable in Nordic Library's catalogue.
The Triantafyllopoulos collection at the Norwegian Institute has a separate catalogue. (Database selection: "Norwegian Institute at Athens").

For a quick reference a list of the periodicals in the Library may also be consulted.

CD-ROM

These can be consulted in the Library. Contact the Librarian. 

  • PHI CD-ROM 5.3 (Latin texts, Bible versions). Searchable with the Musaios program
  • PHI CD-ROM 7 (Inscriptions, Papyri). Searchable with the Musaios program

Thesaurus Linguae Graecae (Digital Library of most texts written in Greek from Homer to the fall of Byzantium in AD 1453) is now fully searchable online from computers within the Library.
